In the main event, #1-ranked contender\u00a0Jarred \u201cThe Monkey God\u201d Brooks<\/strong>\u00a0overcame a spirited effort from #3-ranked\u00a0Gustavo \u201cEl Gladiador\u201d Balart<\/strong>\u00a0to capture the ONE Interim Strawweight MMA World Championship.<\/p>\n

The American star wasted no time from the opening bell, shooting immediately for a takedown against the Cuban Olympian. The former undisputed divisional king was relentless in his grappling offensive, grinding until he was able to take Balart down and secure his back.<\/p>\n

From there, \u201cThe Monkey God\u201d sealed the victory, locking in a rear-naked choke to force the tap with just 21 seconds left in the first round. Next, he can look forward to a World Title unification matchup with reigning king\u00a0Joshua \u201cThe Passion\u201d Pacio.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the co-main event,\u00a0Mayssa Bastos<\/strong>\u00a0defeated\u00a0Danielle Kelly<\/strong>\u00a0in an exhilarating encounter to claim the ONE Women\u2019s Atomweight Submission Grappling World Title.<\/p>\n

Kelly was aggressive to begin the exchanges, attacking explosively with head snaps while actively pursuing the takedown. The American also defended well against Bastos\u2019 signature berimbolo.<\/p>\n

However, the decorated Brazilian star quickly adjusted to Kelly\u2019s pace and was able to turn the tide by mid-bout. It was all Bastos from that point, as she advanced with a torrent of leg-lock and kneebar attempts.<\/p>\n

The battle continued fiercely until the final moments, with Bastos increasing her aggression in the closing moments. After time expired, all three judges scored the bout in favor of Bastos to win by unanimous decision.<\/p>\n
